Check out just some of the great media stories the San has been featured in this year.
In February, Sydney Adventist
Hospital received an Angels
Award from the World Stroke
Organisation, achieving gold
status for excellence in stroke
care. We are the first private
hospital in Australia to achieve
this, and we are also accredited
as a Primary Stroke Centre by
the Australian Stroke Coalition.
In April, the San became the
first hospital in New South
Wales to offer Mako robotic-
assisted shoulder surgery.
The landmark procedure was
performed by orthopaedic
surgeon Dr Marcus Chia.
In June, Associate Professor
Stephen Pillinger performed
his 1000th robotic procedure
using the da Vinci surgical
system, and in July orthopaedic
surgeon Dr Ali Gursel marked
500 VELYS procedures.
