Profile
Dr Nagaratnam graduated in Medicine from the University of Newcastle with Distinction and the Faculty of Health and Medicine Medal. He did his internal medical training at Concord Hospital. His advanced training in Neurology was at Gosford and Westmead Hospitals. He underwent further training in Movement Disorders, as a Movement Disorders Fellow at Westmead Hospital, obtaining extensive experience in the use of botulinum toxin, advanced therapies for Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2024. He practices as a General and Movement Disorders Neurologist with a special interest in Deep Brain Stimulation.
Research
Dr Nagaratnam is currently undertaking further research as a PhD candidate to optimise deep brain stimulation for tremor and Parkinson's disease with neurophysiology and kinematics.
