From Strains to Sarcoma: A Comprehensive GP Approach to Musculoskeletal Care

Learning outcomes for all presentations:

• Assess, diagnose, and implement evidence-based management plans for common sports-related musculoskeletal injuries, including determining appropriate investigations, rehabilitation strategies, and referral pathways.
• Develop evidence-based management plans for patients with arthritis that optimise pain control, maintain function and mobility, and support appropriate use of non-pharmacological, pharmacological and specialist interventions.
• Identify concerning features of musculoskeletal lumps, initiate appropriate investigations, differentiate between common benign lesions and suspected sarcomas, and facilitate timely referral to specialist sarcoma services.
• Apply appropriate imaging pathways to assess, diagnose and manage common musculoskeletal conditions, enabling timely diagnosis, appropriate management, and specialist referral.
