Profile
Dr Shaw completed a Bachelor of Science (Medicine) with Honours from UNSW in 2013, followed by a Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine at UNSW in 2015. He then completed a Master of Surgery through the University of Sydney in 2017. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2025, and achieved his Skull Base and Cerebrovascular Fellowship through the UTSW Medical Center in USA in 2025-26.

Dr Shaw has clinical interests in:
- Skull base tumours: pituitary adenoma, acoustic neuroma, meningioma, schwannoma
- Gliomas
- Brain aneurysms
- Arteriovenous malformations
- Carotid stenosis
- Minimally invasive spinal surgery
Research
Dr Shaw has specific research interests in acoustic neuroma surgery and mechanisms of hearing loss, stereotactic radiosurgery for brain tumours, Moya Moya disease and revascularisation techniques, and clinical outcomes in secretory pituitary adenoma surgery.
