Dr David Ma is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon dedicated exclusively to the hand and wrist. He believes that just as no two fingerprints are alike, no two patients' needs are identical - every consultation is genuinely tailored to the individual.
Dr Ma completed fellowship training across all three major Sydney hand units - Sydney, Royal North Shore, and Fairfield - and has since trained in microsurgery in Singapore and advanced wrist arthroscopy in Hong Kong. He holds dual Masters qualifications in Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) and Surgery (Edinburgh), and graduated top of his class at UNSW. His practice is built on evidence, precision, and a genuine commitment to getting patients the right outcome - surgical or not.
Dr Ma places great value on the relationship between patient, GP, hand therapist, and surgeon. Together with his hand therapist partner, he is committed to clear communication, thorough consultation reports, and remaining personally accessible for urgent concerns.
Research
Dr David Ma has published in high-impact surgical journals including the Annals of Surgery and Journal of Hand Surgery. He has completed a Master of Clinical Epidemiology and research and its implementation in hand surgery.
