Profile
Professor Mittal is a robotic and laparoscopic gallbladder, hernia, liver and pancreatic surgeon specialising in gallstones, hernias, liver tumours and pancreatic cancer. He completed his BHB and MBChB at the University of Auckland followed by basic surgical training in 2002 - 2004. He obtained his PhD through the University of Auckland and was admitted to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2011. He then completed Fellowships in Hepatobiliary Surgery at Auckland Hospital and The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.
Research
Prof Mittal is actively involved in surgical research and training with a specific interest in pancreatic cancer, hernias and gallbladder disease.
