Dr Amy Teh is a senior Radiation Oncologist at Sydney Adventist Hospital and Icon Cancer Centre Network, specialising in the treatment of prostate and breast cancer. Dr Teh graduated with Honours from the University of New South Wales in 2001 and completed her Radiation Oncology training at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. She subsequently undertook a Clinical Research Fellowship at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada, where she was the recipient of the Phyllis Hantho Breast Cancer Research Fund and was awarded the Weekend to End Breast Cancer Research Fellowship for her research.

Dr Teh returned to Australia in 2009 and has developed extensive expertise in advanced radiation therapy, particularly in prostate cancer. She holds certification from the Seattle Prostate Institute in both low-dose-rate (LDR) and high-dose-rate (HDR) prostate brachytherapy, as well as in Image-Guided Stereotactic Radiotherapy through ESTRO in Lille, France. Dr Teh has a particular clinical and research interest in adaptive radiotherapy and the integration of artificial intelligence into radiation oncology. She has been at the forefront of the implementation of AI-enabled adaptive radiotherapy for prostate cancer in Australia. She was an invited member of the New Techniques and Technology Committee of TROG (Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group), Australia's leading radiation oncology research group, and serves on the RANZCR (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists) AI Committee and the Radiation Oncology Alliance Adaptive Radiotherapy Working Group, developing clinical guidelines for the safe implementation of AI and online adaptive radiotherapy in Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Teh is actively involved in prostate cancer clinical trials through TROG and the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP). She leads Sydney Adventist Hospital's involvement in the DASL-HiCaP and ENZARAD trials, international trials investigating novel systemic treatments in combination with radiotherapy, and the RAVES trial investigating post-prostatectomy radiotherapy. Dr Teh has a strong commitment to medical education and academic research. She has twice received the University of Sydney's Excellence in Teaching Award and is currently a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Australian National University. She has served as an Examiner for the RANZCR specialist training program in Radiation Oncology and continues to contribute to medical education.

In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr Teh has contributed to global health through participation in a volunteer oncology outreach team to the Solomon Islands. Her work focuses on translating advances in radiation oncology - including precision imaging, artificial intelligence and adaptive radiotherapy - into improved treatment and care for patients with cancer.

Research

Dr Teh's research spans breast and prostate cancer. Dr Teh has been lead author of publications in international journals including the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics (IJROBP) and the Journal of Thoracic Oncology. Her research on concomitant intensity modulated boost during hypo-fractionated breast radiotherapy was published in the journal of the European Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO). Dr Teh has also presented and published on the use of rectal spacer technology in prostate radiation, as well as published on prostate brachytherapy, advanced medical imaging in prostate cancer with PSMA scanning; advanced radiotherapy techniques such as volumetric arc therapy, helical Tomotherapy, and AI-enabled adaptive radiotherapy. Dr Teh's research has been presented at the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ), RANZCR and University of Toronto radiation oncology scientific meetings. She has been a reviewer for the IJROBP and Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology (JMIRO).
