Your First Day
Your first day will begin with a Welcome Session, where you will receive essential information about your placement, meet your team, and get acquainted with Sydney Adventist Hospital.
Welcome Session
Time
The Welcome Session will run from 8.00am to 4.00pm. Plan to arrive a few minutes early to ensure a smooth start.
Where to Meet
Meet at The Hub, Level 4 (Main Reception). A member of the San Education team will be there to greet you.
What to Bring
- Your student name badge - to be worn at all times during placement
- Photo identification e.g. drivers' licence, to confirm your identity on arrival
Uniforms
Please ensure you are dressed according to the following standards:
- Learning provider clinical placement shirt - no long sleeves
- Navy blue or black tailored slacks or trousers (no jeans or stretch pants)
- Dark blue or black closed-in shoes (leather or waterproof; no fabric material)
- Hair tied back or cut to collar length
- Clean, short, non-lacquered nails
- Minimal jewellery (ear studs or sleepers only)
Absences
If you are unable to attend the Welcome Session, you must notify the Education Coordinator on 02 9480 9039 as soon as possible.
Your education provider may have additional requirements for declaring absence. All leave requires a medical certificate.
Students should not schedule medical appointments, work commitments, or social engagements during placement hours.
Transport
There is limited bus access to Sydney Adventist Hospital.
Onsite paid parking is available, along with limited street parking.
