Vascular Surgery

Vascular surgery is a surgical subspecialty which has evolved over time to incorporate newer more minimally invasive techniques to deal with a wide range of diseases affecting the arteries and the veins.  The vascular surgeon is trained in the diagnosis and management of diseases affecting all parts of the vascular and endovascular system. The San's new Hybrid Theatre provides surgeons with a purpose-built operating theatre enabling catheter directed treatments for these conditions, largely replacing the more invasive, traditional open operations previously performed to deal with blocked and abnormal blood vessels.

Our Vascular Specialists

The San currently has 12 vascular surgeons, many of which have sub-specialty or focus areas. Some of these include treating conditions like peripheral vascular disease (PVD) and abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) through to the likes of deep vein thrombosis and varicose veins.
