Dr Bradbury graduated MB BS (Hons) from the University of Sydney in January 1971. From 1971 to 1975 he completed his residency at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, becoming Medical Registrar (MRACP) in 1974. He obtained his FRACP in 1975, and in 1975 to 1976 he was Medical Registrar at Edgeware General Hospital, London, UK. Returning to Australia, he became Microbiology Registrar at Royal North Shore Hospital in 1977 - 1980, followed by Clinical Superintendent and Fellow in Microbiology at RNSH in 1980 and 1981. In 1981 he received Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. Since 1981 he has been Director of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Sydney, a VMO at Dubbo Base Hospital and Mudgee Hospital, and Staff Specialist at Hornsby Kuring-gai Hospital, Sydney. Since 1994 he has also been a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. From 1991 to 1998 he was a member of the Australian Drug Evaluation Committee (ADEC), and between 1986 and 1997 he was a member of the Australian Drug Reaction Advisory Committee (ADRAC).


Dr Bradbury's research interests include Antibiotic use and adverse reactions; Staphylococcal infection; Prosthetic infections; Orthopaedic infections; Colorectal surgical infections and prophylaxis; Fever of unknown origins; Tropical infections and Travel Medicine; and Infection control.
