Outpatient Exercise Physiology Service - Balanced Bodies Lifestyle Clinic

Balanced Bodies Lifestyle ClinicSydney Adventist Hospital has partnered with Balanced Bodies Lifestyle Clinic to provide an outpatient exercise physiology service located within the San Integrated Cancer Centre.

Initially Balanced Bodies Lifestyle Clinic will service oncology patients primarily, but will also accept referrals from other clinical areas that require exercise rehabilitation support or lifestyle modification guidance (eg. weight management, Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, post-operative rehab, gestational diabetes, etc).

  • Heather Martin, Balanced Bodies Lifestyle ClinicThe clinic at the San is operated by Heather Martin Bachelor of Exercise & Sports Science, Masters of Exercise Physiology
  • Heather will be on-site every Wednesday between 8am and 5pm
  • All new clients are assessed individually to thoroughly go through their medical history, current exercise habits, goals for their health and fitness, postural assessment and functional movement screen. Heather will also discuss the type of program an individual would like to complete, as well as what fits into their current lifestyle.
  • The exercise program may involve one or a combination of the following options:
    • 1-1 exercise sessions
    • a home program
    • periodic follow up sessions
    • group exercise classes
    • telehealth sessions via video call
  • Balanced Bodies Lifestyle Clinic offers Face Time/Skype (face to face) calls for individuals who unable to make appointments physically.


About Heather:

Heather is passionate about the endless benefits exercise can have for all people, but in particular those with chronic diseases who benefit most from an exercise intervention. Heather works with clients of all ages to assist and educate them to use exercise to improve their health, function and quality of life through individualised programs tailored to their needs. Heather has had experience delivering group and individual exercise programs for the mature age population, return to work programs, patients undergoing and post cancer treatment, NDIS and DVA programs, and maternal health programs amongst others. The most rewarding part of Heather’s role is seeing clients transform their lifestyle and regain some control over their life.

Pricing guide:

  • Prices include a 45 minute initial consultation at $135 and either a 45 minute follow up or 1-1 exercise session review for $100 and/or 30-minute reviews for $80
  • Balanced Bodies Lifestyle Clinic accepts private health insurance – dependent upon cover
  • Balanced Bodies Lifestyle Clinic accepts 'Chronic Management Plan' (CMP) referrals signed by your local general practitioner, where patients receive a $52.99 claim back via Medicare for up to 5 sessions
