San Cancer Support Manager shortlisted for leadership gong

Sarah Williams, San Cancer Services ManagerSydney Adventist Hospital's Cancer Support Manager, Sarah Williams, has been named among the finalists in the Impact category for the Leadership Circle Awards.

Sarah has been working at the San for over six years, in various leadership roles. For the past year, she has been managing the hospitals Cancer Support Services. She leads a team of both permanent and volunteer workers across a range of professions from counsellors to clinicians.

She has been recognised for her efforts in bringing together her teams to work collaboratively and commitment to making a meaningful impact on patients diagnosed with cancer, their families and the wonderful healthcare workers that support them.

“I do think it’s more about the team, you can only really be a good leader, if there is a team that is not willing to go on that journey with you then that is a hard battle. I have an amazing team,” she said.

Sarah is both thrilled and surprised at being selected as a finalist.

“You don’t go to work, especially in health care, you don’t think about awards. So, it was a really big surprise, but it is really nice.”

The Leadership Circle awards honour exceptional leaders throughout Australian and New Zealand that are making a real difference and celebrate what great leadership can accomplish.

Public voting for the winners is now open. You can vote for Sarah via this link.

The winners will be announced on Wednesday September 6th, 2023, at the Leadership Circle Mini Conference.
