Volunteer Week 2016

The San celebrated National Volunteer Week to appreciate the work and efforts of its volunteers acknowledging them for their hard work and the time they devote to the hospital in helping and caring patients.

A special morning tea was held every day for all volunteers with long serving volunteers also receving a special certificate in recognition.

Elizabeth Haggett who has volunteered for 30 years loves what she does.

"I love to be amongst the people and I like helping patients. I'll keep going as long as I am able."

There are currently 450 volunteers working at the hospital undertaking diverse tasks like flower delivery, patient meal assistance and administration and reception tasks.

"We recognize our volunteers for their remarkable spirit of giving" says Volunteers Team Manager Patrina McLean.

San Volunteers are an essential part of the San community.
