Does Fully Bundled apply to patients without private health insurance?
Fully Bundled is available to patients with Australian private health insurance. You must be covered for obstetrics under your private healthcare to be eligible. For those without private health insurance or Medicare, the San offers tailored self-funded options designed to support Mum and bub.

When does Fully Bundled begin?
Fully Bundled can be purchased from 1 October 2026, for births on/or after 1 February 2027.
What if my baby is due after 1 February 2027 but I booked before Fully Bundled was introduced?
That’s absolutely fine. If your due date is after 1 February 2027 you can simply contact MaternityBookings@sah.org.au and elect to join the package, giving you the option to benefit from a more streamlined and transparent experience.
Do I have to choose the Fully Bundled package?
No, choosing Fully Bundled is optional. However the Fully Bundled package has been designed to provide greater certainty, with transparent pricing, simplified billing, and beneficial extras to assist you through your maternity journey.
What pathology is included in Fully Bundled?
The Fully Bundled package includes all routine pathology (GBS, Blood Group & Antibody, FBE, Syphilis, Hep B, Hep C, HIV).
If I require an antenatal admission, are specialist fees included in Fully Bundled?
Your hospital stay will be covered under the Fully Bundled package, just as it is for your birth admission. Specialist fees, including your obstetrician, are not included.
Are all paediatric fees included in Fully Bundled?
All paediatric fees related to your baby’s care during the birth hospital admission are included in Fully Bundled, offering added reassurance and simplicity for Mum and baby. If your baby requires care in the Special Care Nursery, associated paediatrician fees are not included. Any consultations after discharge are also not included.
When would the extra $750 be charged?
The additional $750 fee only applies if two separate anaesthetist services are required during your care. For example, if you have already received an epidural and later require a general anaesthetic due to an unexpected emergency.
When can I use my included extra services?
As part of Fully Bundled, you'll have access to a range of valuable extras designed to support you throughout your pregnancy and early parenting journey. You will receive an email with details on how to book these extras. If you have any questions about these email FullyBundled@sah.org.au
- 4 Prenatal Aqua Aerobics Classes can be enjoyed anytime from the date you book your Fully Bundled package until the arrival of your baby.
- CPR Classes and Pelvic Floor Exercise Classes can be redeemed anytime from booking your package through to 6 months after birth, giving you the flexibility to participate when it best suits you and your family's needs.
Are ultrasounds included in the fully bundled package?
Ultrasounds are not included in Fully Bundled, giving mothers the flexibility to choose the ultrasound provider most convenient for them. For those wishing to keep their care connected within the San, San Ultrasound for Women offers dedicated maternity ultrasound services.

What GP consults are included in the package?
Fully Bundled includes all GP consultations for your newborn at San GP Centre, including your baby's scheduled immunisations, providing convenient and comprehensive care during those important early months.
