Leadership & Management Development Program

The Hospital’s strategy called for a management development program to equip its middle managers to more effectively operate in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.  The Program involves two 360-degree surveys that provide feedback to the participant on their leadership and management skills.  With this new self-awareness, skill based workshops are then conducted in coaching, performance management, change management and managing employee occupational stress.  Each program runs for one year at which time the participants repeat the two 360-degree surveys for comparison and tracking of growth and development.  Where desired, participants can seek recognition for a Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management) through the University of New England.  Since implementation in 2002, 95 managers and supervisors have participated in the Program.
