First Aid Courses

A one day course covering the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty, the incident and other first aiders until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

This one day course includes a compulsory pre-reading package and workbook that must be completed prior to course commencement.

REACCREDITATION: Participants who wish to complete this module and receive a Statement of Attainment must have a valid unexpired original certificate prior to commencement. Pre-reading package not required.

Before enrolling you should know that this course requires participants to:

  • Have access to the internet
  • Be able to kneel on the ground for at least 2 minutes continually without assistance


Successful participation in First Aid or Reaccreditation will result in the issue of a Statement of Attainment for the nationally endorsed unit of competency, HLTAID003 Provide First Aid from the Health Training Package.

Certificate valid for three years.


Enrolment for First Aid Training

Unique Student Identifier

All participants undertaking Nationally Recognised Training in Australia must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number.

Nationally Recognised Training at San College of Education includes the following courses and qualifications:

  • First Aid (HLTAID003)
  • CPR (HLTAID001)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110)
  • TAE Skill Sets
  • Assess Competence Workshop (TAEASS402B)
  • Recruitment Workshop (BSBHRM405A)
  • Medical Terminology (BSBMED301B)

A USI consists of a combination of 10 letters and numbers. It will give you direct access to your USI Account, which will enable you to view / download, email and print out your training records when applying for further training, recognition or furthering your career.

How do I create / apply for a USI?

You will need to enter Your USI number when you go through the enrolment process for the course you are going to attend. In the wisenet program there will be a “notes” section where you will be asked to enter your USI number. Please note, without this USI number being entered when you enrol for your desired course on wisenet, you won’t be able to attend the course. San College of Education cannot issue you with any Nationally Recognised Certificates or Statement of Attainments without your USI number being entered by you at the time of your enrolment.

Your USI will be stored on a confidential Student Management System and only used for the purposes of meeting your training requirements.


On the day of the course

Please note: Tea / coffee are provided during this course.

If you wish to, please bring your own lunch. We provide refrigeration and microwave facilities. Cafeteria / hot food is also available for purchase at the hospital. Please see www.sah.org.au/where-to-eat for more information.

Parking

Parking is available on site for a reduced rate of $5.00 per day.

If you are not driving, there are a range of other public transport options available.
