He will highlight significant advancements in treating mitral regurgitation, particularly for patients who are not considered candidates for surgical intervention.

ADVANCEMENTS IN IMAGING OF THE HEART

Dr Ashleigh Dind – Clinical Cardiologist and Cardiac Imaging Specialist
Dr Dind will present on the utility of echocardiography in managing patients with common cardiology presentations such as chest pain, arrhythmia and heart failure. She will explore how cardiac CT and cardiac MRI allows for detailed and non-invasive assessment of coronary arteries and the myocardium.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CARDIOTHORACIC SURGEON

Prof Tristian Yan – Cardiothoracic Surgeon
Prof Yan will discuss the evolution of treatment strategies and paradigm shift in cardiovascular care including minimally invasive and robotic approaches. At the end of this presentation GPs will be able to identify the importance of early diagnosis, prompt intervention and close follow up care for patients with aortic disease.
