Gynaecological Health: Conditions, treatments, surgical options & the importance of pre cancer screening.
This event aims to provide GPs with a comprehensive update on pre cancer screening for gynaecological cancers, abnormal bleeding, uro-gynaecological updates, and the power of ultrasound in diagnosing and managing endometriosis. The speakers will discuss surgical advancements, referral and treatment pathways, and the crucial role of the GP in promoting good women’s health and supporting patients to improve outcomes.

Associate Professor Hogg is a gynaecologist and gynaecologic oncologist. In addition to a Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology he has completed advanced training in the treatment of gynaecological cancer. This provided him with additional expertise in bowel, urinary tract and laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of gynaecological conditions.

Dr Suelyn Lai-Smith is a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist who provides patient centred care, with advanced training in laparoscopic and open procedures in gynaecological oncology. This advanced training means that she can offer additional surgical options and advanced laparoscopic surgery to her patients. Dr Lai-Smith manages all general gynaecological conditions like abnormal pap smears, colposcopy, contraception, pre conception counselling, infertility, polycystic ovaria syndrome, vaginal prolapse, menopause and post-menopausal bleeding.

Dr James Alexander is an experienced, Australian-trained urogynaecolgist, obstetrician and gynaecologist, specialising in pelvic floor disorders. Dr Alexander has special interests in pelvic organ prolapse, female urinary incontinence, pelvic mesh-related concerns, urodynamics, recurrent urinary tract infections, colposcopy and abnormal uterine bleeding.

A/Prof George Condous is a gynaecological surgeon and sonologist in the field of endometriosis. He is an Associate Professor of Gynaecology at Sydney Medical School Nepean, University of Sydney with special interests in gynaecological ultrasound imaging (EFSUMB level 3 equivalent) and minimally invasive gynaecological surgery (MIGS). He is also Head of Discipline of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Sydney Medical School Nepean, University of Sydney.
