Robotic Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery
Speaker: Prof Tristan Yan BSc(Med) MBBS MS MD PhD FRACS
You will understand the advances in minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery including robotics, and the patient impacts.

Tristan Yan is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Professor of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the Macquarie University Hospital and Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Sydney, Department on Cardiothoracic Surgery, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia. He was trained at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, and then obtained Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He completed advanced specialty fellowships in the United States, England, Scotland and Germany. He specialises in minimally invasive aortic surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, and minimally invasive thoracic surgery.

Robotic Colorectal Surgery
Speaker: Dr Stephen Pillinger MB ChB FRACS
An interactive introduction and discussion around the use of robotics in colorectal surgery

Dr Pillinger is a Consultant Colon & Rectal Surgeon, having commenced Consultant practice in 2005. The major focus of his practice is benign and malignant colorectal pathology, and has particular expertise in minimally invasive Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery, Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery and Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS), diagnostic and interventional colonoscopy. He has trained in Robotic surgery in the US and South Korea and is the most experienced Robotic Colorectal Surgeon in Australia.

Gynaecological Surgery for the Obese Patient
Speaker: A/Prof Felix Chan MBBS MRCOG FRANZCOG CGO | Director of Robotic Surgery in Gynaecology, Sydney Adventist Hospital
The rapid development of robotic technology has had a major impact on gynaecology and gynaecological oncology procedures. Improved surgical outcomes, in particular for women with obesity, has allowed increased application in procedures including myomectomy, hysterectomy, endometrial cancer, cervical cancer, pelvic endometriosis, tubal surgery, pelvic sentinel node biopsy, sacro-colpopexy for pelvic organ prolapse and complex gynaecological conditions.

A/Prof Chan is a certified gynaecological oncologist. He performed the first single site robotic hysterectomy in Australia in 2013 and pioneered multiple techniques in robotic gynaecological surgery. A/Prof Chan specialises in advanced laparoscopic, robotic, vaginal and open surgery for the treatment of gynaecologic malignancies and complex gynaecological problems.
