Cancer Support and Jacaranda Lodge APHA Award

In 2007 Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAH) was honored to recieve the Special Community Involvement Award from the Australian Private Hospital Association www.apha.org.au for it's San Cancer Support Centre (SCSC) and affiliated Jacaranda Lodge.

The San Cancer Support Centre and allied residential facility Jacaranda Lodge were founded in 1993 to provide support for people in the community affected by cancer. The SCSC is a unique community outreach service operated by Sydney Adventist Hospital  providing a ‘one stop’ centre offering disease specific support sessions, information, resources, education and counselling, all free of charge to not only Sydney Adventist Hospital patients, but also other hospital cancer patients and their families - regardless of their location throughout Australia or the stage of their illness.

The Centre constantly adapts and grows its services according to community needs complementing individuals’ other medical and surgical treatments. The Lodge offers low cost accommodation for patients, their families or carers, regardless of disease type or if medical treatment is received at SAH, other private, or public facilities.

Sydney Adventist Hospital is proud to be able to provide this service to the community, for more information about these services click San Cancer Support Centre or Jacaranda Lodge.
