| Profile | : | Dr Al Muderis joined the Australian orthopaedic training program in 2004 and obtained his Orthopaedic fellowship FRACS (Ortho) in 2008. Post specialisation fellowships included lower limb arthroscopy in Sydney and Berlin, Germany as well as major revision of hip and knee arthroplasty at Emil Von Berhring Teaching Hospital under Prof Jorg Scholz and Trauma surgery at Unfalkrankenhaus Teaching Hospital Berlin, Germany under the supervision of Prof Axel Ekkernkamp. Dr Al Muderis has attended numerous short courses and workshops including Onlay Hip Resurfacing System, hip arthroscopic using Harmonic scalpel and anterior approach hip arthroplasty using traction devise. Dr Al Muderis commenced his practice in 2010 and has current appointments at the Sydney Adventist Hospital and Norwest Hospital. He is in private practice with rooms in Parramatta, Bella Vista and Wahroonga. Dr Al Muderis specialises in hip, knee, and trauma surgery with particular interest in hip arthroscopy, resurfacing, arthroplasty, and reconstruction of recurrent patellar dislocation. Research: Specific research interests include hip arthroscopy in adolescence; prosthetic design and techniques for hip resurfacing and replacement, developing techniques in managing patellofemoral malalignment and knee cap dislocations. Dr Al Muderis has presented and published numerous papers including how to accurately measure the growth rate in children, spongy metal implants surface in joint replacement surgery, Onlay low friction hip resurfacing, limited incision plating technique in management of clavicle fracture, and describing new patterns of distal clavicle fractures dislocation and many others. | |||
