 Profile:  Dr Perkovic trained at the Royal Melbourne Hospital after graduating with a medical degree from the University of Melbourne. He was awarded a Fellowship by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and undertook Doctoral studies in the Department of Nephrology. He is a part-time staff specialist in the Department of Renal Medicine at the Royal North Shore Hospital, and a member of the Renal team at Sydney Adventist Hospital.
 
 Research:  Dr Perkovic has a broad range of research interests. He is Co-Director of the Renal Division of the George Institute for International Health, where he pursues an acitive clinical research program aiming to prevent and treat kidney disease and its complications. He is Deputy Chair of the Australasian Kidney Trials Network Scientific Committee, and is Convenor of the Cardiovascular Guideline section of the 'Caring for Australians with Renal Impairment' (CARI) guidelines.
