 Profile:  Dr Benecke trained at Sydney Eye Hospital and has been in private practice in Hornsby for over 15 years. He is a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and has participated in meetings of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the International Congress of Ophthalmology. Dr Benecke has performed thousands of cataract operations for the people of Sydney and environs, and he has also worked as a volunteer cataract surgeon with AUSAID and the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in the Pacific Islands Program. Dr Benecke is the Chairman of the Section of Ophthalmology at Sydney Adventist Hospital.
