 Profile:  Dr Barin graduated at Knox Grammar School in 1974, and graduated from Sydney University in 1979 (Honours). He received the Harold Ritchie Prize for final year, and Clinical School Graduation Prizes (RNS Hospital). He is a Fellow, Royal Australasian College of Physicians (1983) and a member of the Cardiac Society of Australia and NZ. He received the Ralpy Reader Prize for Research in 1987. He is also a VMO at Royal North Shore Hospital, Ryde Hospital, and Mater Hospital. He is a member of the Australian Medical Association and the Kuring gai District Medical Association.
 
 Research:  Dr Barin's research interests include technical and haemodynamic aspects of permanent pacing, Arterial stiffening in hypertension and cardiovascular disease, as well as Pulse wave analysis and risk categorisation.
