 Profile:  Dr Heidi Wong graduated from UNSW with a double degree MBBS, BSc in 1986. She completed advanced surgical training both in Hong Kong and at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Her enthusiastic involvement in Breast Surgery commenced in 1989 and she became a breast service team committee member involved in the breast screening program in a teaching hospital in Hong Kong before returning to Sydney in 1994. Dr Wong is in private practice at St Leonards and Wahroonga, providing dedicated specialist services to our community. She has focused her interests in Breast, Thyroid and Laparoscopic Surgery, and in particular, the diagnosis and management of breast cancer. She uses her own modern high-resolution ultrasound scan in her rooms and in the operating theatres to further facilitate excellent patient care. She is a consultant specialist to the Mater Hospital and Sydney Adventist Hospital, and is regularly involved in their respective Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer units. She has also been providing regular specialist services at The Sydney Breast Clinic since 2002. As a general surgeon, Dr Wong is also certified by the Conjoint Committee (both Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Physicians, and the Gastroenterological Society of Australia) to perform upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopies.
