Notice To All San Run for Life Fun Run Supporters

It is with regret we advise that the annual San Run for Life Fun Run will not take place in 2011.

After careful consideration, the decision has recently been made not to hold the 16 October 2011 event due to safety concerns and impacts on the fun run route caused by the major Hospital construction program planned to commence this year on the Sydney Adventist Hospital site.

Normally held in October, an important section of the Fun Run route is located on the Hospital grounds that will be either directly or indirectly impacted by the planned construction.

Easy access and clear routes are critical to guarantee the safety, health and wellbeing of the approximately 1500 individual, family, school, elite, and social walkers and runners who take part in the event.

The first priority of the San is always to ensure the delivery of high quality and safe healthcare services to our community.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this decision may cause, and thank members of the San community, volunteers, partners and participants of the Fun Run for their support and understanding.
