Picking Up a Patient

If you are picking up a patient who is ready for discharge, you may find the following information helpful.

Patients leaving a ward:

Please park your car in the main visitors car park and proceed to the ward. Ensure that the patient's belongings are packed and that their discharge medications and paperwork have been provided. Take the patient to the main entry foyer on Level 4. There may be some paperwork to be handed in at the Access Centre in the foyer and you may need to collect discharge medications from the Pharmacy in the foyer.

When ready, the patient can remain seated in the foyer while you collect your car and bring it to the main hospital entry to collect the patient and their belongings.

Patients being picked up from Day Surgery or San Clinic:

Please park your car in the main visitors car park and proceed to Day Surgery or the Clinic. Ensure that the patient's belongings are packed and that their discharge medications and paperwork have been provided. The patient should remain in the Day Surgery Discharge Lounge or the San Clinic Foyer on Level 3 while you collect your car and bring it to the patient drop off and pick up zone outside the entry to the San Clinic on the main entry ring road at the front of the hospital.
