Dr Norman Blumenthal

Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynaecology; Advanced Endoscopic Surgery & Endometrial Ablation
Dr Blumenthal completed his medical degree in South Africa in 1975 and went on to specialise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He gained Memberships & Fellowships in South Africa and England and after immigrating to Sydney in 1982 and working as a Senior Fellow at Westmead Hospital, he became a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and has been in private practice since 1984. He has a subspecialty interest in laparoscopic surgery and continues to be active in the training of registrars on the training scheme, and is active in Obstetrics. Dr Blumenthal is an endoscopic surgeon. He is a discipline leader in O&G at Notre Dame University and an O&G examiner for the Royal Australasian College.

Dr Andrew Booker

Dr Booker completed his Medical degree in 1995 at Newcastle University, followed by an internship at Hornsby Hospital. He was an unaccredited Registrar in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Manly Hospital in 1998, and then completed 6 months in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Royal North Shore Hospital. He commenced accredited training for Fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital in 1999, and achieved membership of RANZCOG in 2002. Dr Booker's accredited training posts include Royal North Shore, Hornsby, Port Macquarie and Manly Hospitals, and Salisbury Hospital in the UK. He was Senior Registrar in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Royal North Shore Hospital in 2003, and was awarded FRANZCOG in January 2005.

Dr Bevan Brown

Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynaecology; Advanced Endoscopic Surgery & Endometrial Ablation
Dr Brown gained his medical degree from the University of Sydney in 1987 and went on to complete his training at the Royal Hospital for Women, before becoming Staff Specialist at Liverpool Hospital and until 2002 was con-joint clinical lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the University of New South Wales Faculty of Medicine. He has more recently been tutoring in Women’s Health at the University of Sydney and is Principal Clinician at the Sydney Fibroid Clinic. Dr Brown is a member of A.G.E.S. and A.A.V.I.S.. He has particular interest in Endometriosis, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and Prolapse.

Dr Terry Chang

Dr Chang is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist specialising in High Risk Obstetrics, One Stop Gynaecology (being able to have a consultation and ultrasound examination in one visit), and Advanced Laparoscopic & Hysteroscopy surgeries. Dr Chang graduated from the University of New South Wales and undertook specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at the Royal Hospital for Women, Randwick. He completed his specialty training at The Women's Hospital in Crown Street, Sydney, being the last registrar to complete MRACOG before the hospital closed in 1983. Following this, Dr Kent became a Lecturer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Aberdeen University, and Senior Registrar at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, in Scotland. Dr John Keogh

Dr John Keogh Dr Keogh graduated from Sydney University in 1982 and did general medicine and paediatrics for the first five years. After completing a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OB & GYN) as part of his training to become a rural GP, he decided that the obstetrics field was the career path for him. He completed his training in Sydney, England, Dublin (where he met his wife) and Perth, with the opportunity to work briefly in Tanzania along the way. He has worked as a Senior Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King Edward Hospital and the University of Western Australia for three years. He has conducted research into the causes and outcomes of babies born with neurological problems in the first week of life. He was Senior Staff Specialist and later Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Hornsby Hospital and after ten years moved into private Obstetrics. He now has rooms at the San Clinic and operates and delivers from the Sydney Adventist Hospital in Wahroonga.

Dr Arifa Khan

Dr Khan is an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist specialising in Minimally Invasive Surgery (keyhole surgery). Following her graduation she joined Westmead Hospital where she completed her specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. In pursuing her special interest she was the fellow in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at Western Sydney Area Health. Dr Khan was awarded the Travelling Scholarship in 2003, enabling her to travel to world-renowned centres for Endoscopic Surgery in France and Italy. In addition, she has spent a year working in England gaining further valuable experience. Dr Peter Leung Dr Leung graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1993, and then did further training at the University in epidemiology and biostatistics, which he completed in 2002. He underwent his Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialty training at Prince of Wales Hospital and more recently completed his Master’s Degree in Reproductive Medicine and is a certified sub-specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Together with IVF Australia Northshore, he is able to provide a wide range of infertility treatments. He is a Visiting Medical Officer for Manly Hospital, and provides Obstetrics and Gynaecology services in Manly and at the Sydney Adventist Hospital. He has a keen interest in laparoscopic surgery, ultrasound, ovulation induction and infertility studies. Dr Andrew Peng

Dr Andrew PengDr Peng completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney and trained in obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH). As part of this training he undertook a one year Allan Ferrier Memorial fellowship at North Shore Private Hospital and The Mater Hospital where he focused on complex gynaecological surgery and high risk obstetrics. He currently holds the position of clinical fellow (high risk obstetrics) at RNSH's Maternal Foetal Medicine Unit. He also lectures at Notre Dame University and is involved in teaching with the University of Sydney Medical School. Dr Peng is focused on providing all patients with individualised, personalised care. He welcomes all women, and in particular has a special interest in managing complicated pregnancies. Her areas of interest include high-risk obstetrics and adolescent and complicated gynaecology concerns. Dr Prabhala’s holistic approach in assisting women with their concerns enables them to achieve the best possible outcome in both obstetrics and gynaecology. Since 2012, Dr Prabhala has participated as a member of an international volunteer team that performs reconstructive surgery for women with uterine prolapse in Nepal.

He was then Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, England and Clinical Lecturer (OB & GYN) at the University of Oxford, England. Dr Tina SuDr Tina Su is an experienced Obstetrician & Gynaecologist working in an all female-based private group practice. Dr Urbaniak has over 15 years’ experience in private and public service in Perth, Wagga Wagga, Maitland and Sydney. From 2004 he has been a Senior specialist Clinical Team Leader at Hornsby Hospital. From 2007 -2010 he was RANZCOG O & G Training supervisor. Since 2010, Dr Urbaniak has been working as an AMO at Sydney Adventist Hospital and the San Clinic and at Hornsby Hospital (private and public). His areas of interest include pelvic surgery, incontinence and minimally invasive surgery, as well as the management of pregnancy and labour and the use of ultrasound in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Dr Peter Wood

Dr Peter WoodDr Wood has always considered it a privilege to help couples bring their babies into the world and especially enjoys helping mothers in higher risk categories, such as those with multiple gestations (twins etc). He believes it is also important to involve each patient in the decision making process, particularly if intervention is required. His interests in gynaecology include assisting women who have suffered pregnancy losses, Pap smear problems, irregular or heavy periods, sexual dysfunction and other general gynaecological issues. Obstetrics and Gynaecology is often fraught with emotions and he likes to offer his patients support, both physically and emotionally. Dr Wood completed medical school in 1991 from the University of NSW and gained 10 years’ experience in emergency and intensive care medicine. He has worked in O & G at King George V Memorial Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Darwin Hospital and also Salisbury in the UK.
