SAH 12th Annual Quality Awards Evening

Over 70 SAH Board, executive committee and staff members attended the 12th annual San Quality Awards Evening held at Oatlands Golf Club on the 7th November.

The Quality Awards event aims to promote quality development at the San.

Quality Project Awards were presented by Executive Committee members and Directors.

CLINICAL SINGLE (DEPARTMENT CATEGORY)

Winner: San Day Surgery Hornsby Pot Luck - Enhancing Pathology Specimen Management Processes

Participation certificates were presented to: Maternity Unit for Implementation of the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines for resuscitation of the newborn baby, CCU for Can we stop the Bleeding? Pre Med or NO premed with femoral arterial sheath removal in CCU? and Do we really need that?, Physiotherapy Department for Development & implementation of a Professional Recognition Program for Physiotherapists.

 

NON-CLINICAL (SINGLE DEPARTMENT CATEGORY)

Winner: Dalcross Business Office Admissions for improving patient Awareness of their Rights & Responsibilities.

Participation certificates were presented to: Dalcross Food Services for improving food temperature at final point of delivery.

 

CLINICAL (MULTI DEPARTMENT CATEGORY)

Winner: Nursing Education for SAH Skin Tear Management Plan.

Participation certificates were presented to: Dalcross Mcintosh , Madden Lovell Wards ICU, Theatre & Eye Centre for Demonstrating an improvement in falls risk documentation.

 

NON-CLINICAL (MULTI DEPARTMENT CATEGORY)

Winner: Hospitality Services/Infection Prevention & Control for Change over to C64 Clinical Waste Bins.

Participation certificates were presented to: Food Services / IS/Accounting & Finance for CBORD/ JDE Interface now fully functional for accounts payable, receivable & general ledger transactions, Patient Services / IS for Accounts receivable 90 days less than 1 million dollars, ICU/CCU/IS for MetaVision Computerised Information System Selection.

 

NEW CATEGORY- SAFETY INITIATIVE AWARD

Winner: Nutrition & Dietetics / Information Services- for Development & implementation of an 'Allergy Module.'

 

Customer Excellent Recipients included Alison Sayer Maternity Department, Jimmy Bizaare Hospitality Department, Christine Larkin Hospitality Department, Jennifer Thomson Hospitality Department, Dr John Keogh San Clinic, Fluer Duke Sleep Studies and Dr Andrew Booker San Clinic.
