POON WARD - Level 6 Oncology
/ Palliative Care Unit
Poon Ward is a 39 bed medical oncology, palliative care and symptom control facility, and incorporates the Kathleen Hancock Day Care Centre for patients who require a day-stay infusion or chemotherapy. The ward is shaped around the Johannsen Terrace, an indoor atrium with a calming ambience for patients, families and visitors. We work within a multidisciplinary team, including continuing care, social workers, chaplains, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and dietitians. We currently require Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Clinical Nurse Specialists.

BURNSIDE WARD - Level
7 Medical / Respiratory / Stroke Unit
Level 7 is a busy 33 bed medical ward incorporating a 4-bed acute stroke
unit and 8 telemetry beds. Our recently refurbished ward is state of the
art, well equipped, and presents an excellent working environment. Our
nursing team is an exciting combination of individuals from a variety
of cultural backgrounds who have fun and enjoy the challenges that our
mix of patients brings. We provide care for a variety of medical conditions,
and pride ourselves on the high standards and quality of care that we
give to our patients.
People are welcome to come for an informal visit around the unit to discuss
employment opportunities. We have a dedicated ward educator, and encourage
our staff to develop themselves by offering extensive educational resources.
We currently have positions for all levels of nursing staff including
CNS.

BUTLER WARD - Level
8 Cardiothoracic / Cardiovascular Unit
Level 8 is a Cardiothoracic/Vascular step down 33 bed ward. 28 beds have
telemetry and there is a 4 bed acute observation area. Patients are supported
by a cardiac patient educator and an extensive cardiac rehabilitation
program including Phases i, ii and iii. It is staffed by a dedicated,
enthusiastic team who have a primary focus on quality patient care and
are a unique group of supportive and friendly professionals.
Level 8 boasts contemporary technology including a paging system for
communication between patients and staff capable of detecting lethal rhythms
via the telemetry system. Staff has the support of an educator, preceptor
for new graduates, clinical educator support and 24 hr career medical
officer along with a team of highly experienced and respected visiting
medical officers. Assistance to attain CNS status and further professional
development through attendance at conferences and seminars is also available.
Level 8 is an integral part of the Hospital, which also accepts patients
from ICU, Emergency Care and other locations who require ongoing cardiac
monitoring and observation thereby offering team members a varied, interesting
and challenging role.

RADLEY WARD
- Level 9 Neurosurgical / General Surgical Unit
Radley Ward is a 33 Bed acute surgical unit specialising in Neurosurgery. Radley Ward opened in February 2004 as a General Surgical / Orthopaedic ward and will be commencing with neurosurgery in mid-March 2007.
We are currently recruiting nurses with neurosurgical experience. Our neurosurgeons will be Dr Owler, Dr Dexter, Dr Kam and Dr Dandie.
Neurosurgery is an exciting and interesting specialty to work with.

HUDSON WARD - Level
10 Orthopaedic Unit
The orthopaedic team believes that quality and teamwork are the key things
that make this a great place to work. We are a very busy area, which is
rapidly expanding, catering for a large range of orthopaedic needs. Our
predominantly surgical workload is comprised of both elective surgery
and patients transferred from the Emergency Care Department. We are lucky
to be able to say we have a great wealth of orthopaedic experience and
knowledge with-in our team and we believe in education and supporting
those that join us.

Level 11 at the SAH is offering all those Registered Nurses or Enrolled
