Contacting Delivery Suite

It is important that you contact the Delivery Suite before coming to hospital for the birth of your baby.

We have created a home-like atmosphere in our delivery suites to help you feel more at ease and comfortable. Two support persons are permitted in the delivery suite.

If you are 20 weeks or more, you should immediately make contact (day or night) if any of the following occur:
  • Ruptured membranes (waters have broken); or continuous leakage of fluid
  • Bright bleeding
  • Dizziness, visual disturbances associated with nausea and severe headache
  • Noticeable decrease in, or lack of foetal movement
  • Regular contractions
  • Premature labour

Phone 02 9487 9111 and ask to be put through to the Delivery Suite. The midwife will then advise if it is necessary to come to hospital.

If you have concerns prior to 20 weeks, do not hesitate to contact your obstetrician or your GP immediately, or visit a San's Emergency Care Unit.
