MOBILE CLINIC
In 2011, a new development in HealthCare Outreach commenced with the first non-surgical trip being organised.
Partnering with International Childrens Care (Australia) – www.iccaustralia.org.au – a team of 15 worked with some of the poorest and poverty stricken communities in Cambodia. They were working in primitive rural communities where healthcare is simply a luxury that those that live there cannot afford.
Using International Children's Care's base in provincial Cambodia where a small clinic has been built, the team also began working to assist the development of a sustainable healthcare program for these communities.

OPERATION OPEN HEART
Operation Open Heart has visited Cambodia on two occasions. The primary purpose was to assist the Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap and local cardio-thoracic surgeons in closed heart surgery procedures.
Over the two visits, along with other training opportunities, local surgeons are now capable of delivering these services.
In 2011, Operation Open Heart was invited to return and assist in teaching and training of the first stage of open heart surgery procedures. We hope to return during the course of 2012.

RECONSTRUCTIVE PROGRAM
A small team headed by Associate Professor Graham Gumley has worked in Phnom Penh.
In the past they have visited and worked in five local hospitals, and the team combines teaching and skills transfer to local staff, while performing hand and shoulder surgery.
The aim of this trip is to continue to work in the development of hand surgery in Phnom Penh through teaching and skills transfer, while consulting and performing hand surgery for the poor and needy.
