 Welcome to Sydney Adventist Hospital(...known as the San). Sydney Adventist Hospital is one of the largest and most comprehensive private hospitals in Australia. We are a modern acute care facility with all diagnostic and therapeutic services conveniently located on-site. Since its establishment in 1903, Sydney Adventist Hospital has always been a not-for-profit institution. This means all profits made by the Hospital go back into the Hospital, ensuring the best equipment and the best care. The San offers a wide range of specialties including Cardiac Care, Maternity, Women's Health, Urology, Orthopaedics, Cancer Services, Colorectal and General Surgery, and General Medicine. We have a 24-hour Emergency Care unit, 10 operating theatres, and 342 beds including our 53-bed Maternity & Women's Health unit where we deliver around 2,000 babies each year. The San Day Surgery Hornsby is a multi-specialty day surgery owned by Sydney Adventist Hospital. It has 2 theatres and a procedure room, and focuses on Ophthalmology (Eye Surgery), Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery and General Surgery. The Sydney Adventist Hospital Ethics Committee is a registered Human Research Ethics Committee (EC00141) and was established at Sydney Adventist Hospital in 1988. It provides information to researchers who wish to carry out human research at the San. The Australasian Research Institute (ARI) operates from offices within the Faculty of Nursing and Health Science at the Sydney Adventist Hospital. It was launched in 2004 to conduct, facilitate and promote research within its member organisations within the broad context of Adventist Christian service to the community. The member organisations include Sydney Adventist Hospital Ltd., Avondale College and the Australian Health and Nutrition Association Ltd.
