Enrolled Nurse Refresher Courses

Refresher Course For Enrolled Nurses

San Education runs a Refresher Course for Enrolled Nurses wishing to achieve personal goals associated with commencing or returning to the acute care setting. 

The course is 25 days in duration, over 8 weeks in total.  There is a clinical component of 14 days, and a classroom component of 11 days.

 

All applications need to include:

  • The course fee
  • The signed Working with Children Check Consent Form - please print this form and send it in, do not complete online
  • A photocopy of your current Nursing Registration (original to be sighted by Refresher Co-ordinator on first day of the course if you are a successful applicant). If your nursing registration has conditions please attach a copy of these conditions.
  • Passport photo
  • CV with details of clinical history

All courses are run at the following times:
Classroom:    8.30am – 3.30pm
Clinical:           7.00am – 3.30pm

Enrolled Nurse Clinical Practice for Medication Endorsement

Students who are participating in the Tafe NSW or The College of Nursing Medication Administration Course may apply to do their clinical component here at the Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAH). SAH staff wishing to complete the medication administration course may also apply.

This placement caters for observation and clinical practice of medication administration leading to assessment by a Nurses and Midwives Board approved assessor.


Enrolled Nurse New Grad Courses

This six-month program provides an opportunity for the newly enrolled EN to have an individually structured development plan to support their transition period. The program provides relevant learning opportunities, while supported by clinical nurse educators.

Enrolled Nurse Advanced Clinical Skills Workshop

Course targets all Enrolled and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses wishing to upgrade their clinical skills and knowledge to an advanced level.  Four separate workshops cover a wide range of topics, which may include wound care, urinary catheterisation, removal/cutting of drains, nasogastric tubes, central venous access devices, ECG`s, PCA management, fluid and electrolytes, blood transfusions, patient assessment, pain management, drug therapy, abnormal clinical findings.
