San Education, a department of Sydney Adventist Hospital, provides a comprehensive education program designed to support both the needs of hospital staff and members of the wider community.
To enhance and support this department, a separate entity called 'San College of Education' operates as a fully functioning 'Registered Training Organisation' (RTO). The RTO offers specific, nationally recognised Training Packages, Qualifications, Courses, and individual 'Units of Competency'. These courses are listed within our Calendar and Handbook and on our Courses and Workshops page, accompanied by their official course name and code, as required by the National Training Information Service (NTIS).
For more information on how the San College of Education operates, please see our Student Handbook and our Code of Practice.
Courses and Workshops
If you're looking to upgrade your skills in the Health Care industry or interested in community health issues, San Education offers a broad range of relevant courses and workshops, and conferences.
Certificates and statements of attainment are provided for portfolios, and one CPD point is awarded for health professionals for every hour of instruction.
RTO Courses
Participants who successfully complete a course will graduate with a nationally recognised qualification, complying with the standards set by the Australian Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF). Accredited programs and individual modules from Certificate II, III and IV are offered throughout the year.
Enrolment
San Education accepts enrolments from any potential students. Some programs may have a limited number of vacancies and these will be filled in a chronological order upon completion of the enrolment form and full payment of any course fees (if applicable).
The San College of Education Enrolment Form for all traineeships, workshops and courses can be found here, and is also included in our Calendar and Handbook.
Recognition of Prior Learning
For all RTO courses the San College of Education recognises skills and knowledge gained through work, educational and other life experience. Recognition for these skills and knowledge may be given towards courses currently offered. See our Recognised Prior Learning Policy for further information. This policy is also included in our Calendar and Handbook.
