Cardiovascular disease is the No.1 cause of death in Australia. There is no cure of cardiovascular disease*. However, there are many positive treatments and lifestyle modifications that can assist you to manage heart disease and slow down its progression.
The San Cardiac Rehabilitation programs can reduce the incidence of subsequent cardiovascular events, increase your chances of survival and improve your quality of life.
Our Cardiac Rehabilitation staff are dedicated to:
• Providing a supportive caring environment for our clients
• Assisting clients to return to their family/work with confidence
• Educating and enabling our clients and their families to adopt healthier lifestyle behaviours.
One of the main programs the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department provides is our Outpatient Heart Health Program, which aims to increase fitness, reduce cardiac risk factors and increase confidence in a safe monitored environment. The program is specifically designed for those who are recovering from the following procedures or events:
• Heart attack
• Heart / valve surgery
• Stent
• Pacemaker/defibrillator
• Risk Factor
You do not have to have been a patient at Sydney Adventist Hospital for the above procedures or events to participate in any of our programs.

Referral & Fees
A GP, Cardiologist or Surgeon may refer patients to our programs, or patients can phone and inquire themselves. Fees for Phase II and the Conditioning for Life program are covered by most private health funds.

Location
To find Cardiac Rehabilitation, enter the car park via the boom gate near Fox Valley Medical and Dental Centre, and take a ticket. Proceed to parking in areas marked P on the map to the right. These areas are locked at 9pm. Alternative parking is available in the area marked P, or in the main hospital car park, which is accessed via the main hospital entrance at the traffic lights. Cardiac Rehabilitation is located on Level 3 of the main Hospital building, near San Physiotherapy. Once inside the hospital follow the signs to Physiotherapy and Cardiac Rehabilitation. Cardiac Rehabilitation patients are eligible for a discounted parking fee. Bring your ticket in with you to be validated before you leave.
