Cancer Support

A diagnosis of cancer is usually accompanied by intense emotions including shock, fear and anxiety for the patient and family members. The Cancer Support Centre and Jacaranda Lodge were founded in 1993 to provide support for all those in the community affected by cancer. Trained staff and volunteers are able to provide assistance to help people regain a sense of control over their lives.

The Cancer Support Centre provides a wide range of services to the community, including support groups, education lectures, counselling, resources and information, and massage and reflexology services, in a warm, comforting and supportive environment.  Please see our current calendar for a list of this months meetings and events.

Jacaranda Lodge provides low cost accommodation in a comforting, warm environment for country outpatients and for families of Hospital patients who live at a distance from the San.

Sydney Adventist Hospital has created a 2011 Calendar capturing highlights of cancer services delivered by doctors, nurses and allied health professionals. Staff are often humbled by the opportunity to help people in this critical time of their lives. This calendar is a fundraiser, with proceeds from its sale being used support the provision of all cancer services at the San, particularly complementary therapies such as the oncology massage therapy we offer to our inpatients on Poon Ward and the San Day Infusion Centre.  For more information on how you can purchase this calendar, please click here.
